Features of Stable Build

  • Chest loot is fully randomized.

  • Part of the Whirlwind family of mods.

  • v0.1a includes a chest bugfix. Thanks to rpgman1 for the report.

Patching Instructions

  • Recommended for use with Chaos Rush's improvement of Demiforce's fan translation.

  • IMPORTANT! If you run into issues patching, try shortening the filename of the patch and/or of the patched rom. Thanks to Trinton for the initial report. Update: the patch has had its filename shortened and reuploaded.

  • The Japanese version should also be compatible with this mod. Report any issues, and we’ll support the Japanese version albeit at a lower priority than the English version.

Preview of Dev Build

  • Designed based on the open-world mode of the cousin hack, FFV: Whirlwind.

  • Random encounters will no longer occur unless you have the B button held down while walking.

  • Movement speed doubled in overworld, towns, and dungeons.

  • Saving available even in towns and dungeons.

  • Call your airship anywhere using the A button. Works from the beginning of the game.

  • Party members can now have the same name. This is for future seeding purposes.

  • The Jade Passage can now be accessed early. Ten other sequence breaks have been enabled in the overworld.

  • Gil is now boosted to 10x.

  • Airship always moves at double speed regardless of item collection and regardless of toggling the B button.

  • The rates of leveling and stat ups are now boosted to 10x.

  • It is 4x easier to run away from battle.

  • Set (manual) seeding is now supported.

  • Chest rando can now be toggled via pressing the Select button while in the main menu or row menu.

  • The boulder event in the Snow Cave has been disabled for now.

  • You are now granted the ship at game start.

  • The door in Kashuan Keep has been opened.

  • The doppelganger in Mysidian Cave has been despawned.

  • Ricard in Leviathan has been despawned. This is so Crystal Rod won’t be needed to pass through Leviathan. But he’s now believed to be unrecruitable.

  • The Cyclone can be accessed early.

  • Auto (random) seeding is now supported. Enter “auto ” as Firion’s name to get a different seed each time.

  • Gil chests now contain randomized items when rando chests is set to on. Gil chests containing the same amount of gil will contain the same randomized item.

  • Dev builds available on Discord.

Aside of the english translation, I like the game as it is when it came out, these upgrades can be done using game genie/par codes
