Power Quest - SRAM Save / No Password

Adds real battery-backed save support to Power Quest for Game Boy Color. This patch replaces the original password-only continue flow with SRAM saving. Opening the in-game password/status screen writes the current progress to a normal .sav file, and selecting Continue loads that saved progress automatically. Avoid powering off your game while opening the password menu to prevent corruption.

If you wish to continue your password-save from your non-modded game you may enter it manually before creating a new SRAM save the first time. Once you create a save file the ability to manually enter a save password is no longer supported. A new save file can still be created by pressing Start and then navigating to the normal password menu after picking your fighter.

Tested on mGBA and real hardware.

Instructions:

1. Start with your own authentic backup of Power Quest for Game Boy Color.
2. On the Romhack Plaza page, use the ROM Patcher in the sidebar.
3. Drag your Power Quest ROM file into the ROM box.
4. Drag the included .ips patch file into the patch box.
5. Click Apply Patch
6. Save the new patched ROM.

This download only contains the patch. It does not include the game ROM.
